Put It Away - Organization at Work or Home
TRAINING SESSIONS AND HELPS

Just to explain that I do these trainings, as well as any other skill or subject on this website.

I teach cooking, how to can, emergency prepardness, communication, critical thinking, learning skills, and so on.

If it's on my site or close to my degree...I can come up with a training session for your group or business.

These training sessions combine DVDs, group activities, individual critical thinking, media, humor, etc.

Tammy searched for the best of the best, whether it was a DVD, a life changing principle, or simply a fun way to engage you.

GET AHEAD, is the delivery of a broad range of training programs that increase job knowledge, develop skills, and influence behavior.
The focus is on employee task development, strategic and tactical implementations, and employee personal growth and development.

The Handbook gives you all the tools to set up your own work-based training.

During my years of teaching work-based ESL, being a manager, a business owner, and then as a researcher, studying work-based training programs, I began to realize that there seemed to be elements that made some training programs more successful than others.

From Kanban, Poka Yoke, to Deming's core priciples, there are 3 different training session to create a more effeicent workplace, reduce errors, change behavior, increase production, save time and money, plus more.

Tammy has a training session that is a one day, seven hour session that covers the aspects of ADA that apply to state, city, and local Department of Transportation [DOT] issues regarding ramps, sidewalks, crosswalks, and so forth.

This training can be used by the DOT or city to train contractors, employees, and so forth in accessibility and construction issues.

See her PowerPoint on this website.

This training session incorporates the use of the video:

OUCH! That Stereotype Hurts©

Staying silent in the face of demeaning comments, stereotypes or bias allows these attitudes and behaviors to thrive. This undermines our ability to create an inclusive workplace where all employees are welcomed, treated with respect and able to do their best work. Yet most people who want to speak up don't know how..... so they say nothing.

This training program can help give your people the tools to speak up - without blame.

Have you ever been to a Sexual Harassment Training Session that wasn't all legalese gibberish and you were about to fall asleep, but you couldn't, because you knew you had to pass a test at the end of class?

Has your organization had Sexual Harassment training, but behavior still hasn't changed?

Engaging, incredibly relevant and occasionally humorous, Let's Get Honest© sets a whole new standard in sexual harassment videos. It is beautiful to watch, motivational and remarkably human with its approach and message. (This is true...do you have any idea how many BORING programs and videos I watched before I found this one?) It is the first sexual harassment video that addresses the real dilemma facing today's workforce: how to put your sexuality on hold at work while living in a sexually charged world.

At work, generational differences can affect everything: including recruiting, building teams, dealing with change, motivating, managing, and maintaining and increasing productivity. Think of how generational differences, relative to how people communicate, might affect misunderstandings, high employee turnover, difficulty in attracting employees and gaining employee commitment.

I use parts of both the following programs, combined with group activities and games to show generational differences. But more importantly I stress in my training how common goals and values bring people together, despite their differences.

Mixing Four Generations in the Workplace.  A Cam Marston DVD

This program educates and stimulates positive interaction among your people. It will also dramatically reduce workplace conflict and provide managers and supervisors with strategies for dealing with recruiting, retaining, and motivating, using the generational differences in a positive way.

Managing Four Generations in the Workplace.

In this scenario-based sequel to the best-seller Mixing Four Generations in the Workplace, supervisors and managers learn the techniques needed to handle cross-generational communications problems, avoid conflict, and maximize performance.

I have a great video on this page!

The clichéd phrase: dress for success. Everyone has heard it, most people understand it, however, it is one of the least used tools by people. Every day, throughout many situations; first impressions are critical.

Remember, you are marketing a product -- yourself -- to each person you meet. The first thing an individual sees when meeting you is your appearance (clothing, hair, makeup, jewelry, teeth, and eyes). So you must make every effort to have the proper dress for the type of activity you are engaged in and for the type of message you want to send about yourself.

Will dressing properly get you the job/win a friend/get you success?

Of course not! But it WILL give you a competitive edge and a positive first impression.

Should you be judged by what you wear? Possibly not, but the reality is, of course you are judged.

I have some really funny videos on this page!

This video humorously shows the dilemma many people in business have:

What should I do?

What should I say?

How do I handle this client?

Do I sit down first?

Whom do I introduce first?

As with the other training sessions, I combine humor with media, group activities, fun, thought- provoking commentary, and education.

I teach team work from several different angles. The focus could be: how to motivate a team that you are managing, or perhaps how to resolve conflicts in a team.

Another angle is how to be a good team member. What does that mean? How to hire people that work well on teams? Or how to hire that brilliant loner, but find a team that can work with such an eccentric.

Is there a way to combine the individual and the team? How decisions are made or time managed within a team.
